Is it true that there’s forced cross-platform matchmaking now? In other words, am I (a Nintendo Switch player) competing against PS4, Xbox and PC players in the same lobby? I’ve heard some rumblings about this and it would explain why the new season feels significantly harder. It has brought so many sweats and ass-whoopings with it. Chapter 2 was a breeze up until now.

Feels like people don’t even use C4 when I play. It hasn’t been an issue at all in my experience. My biggest issue in the game right now are the cross-platform sweats that slaughter my weak Nintendo Switch-ass in Squads. I’m struggling to even hit 30’FPS. I’m starting to consider maybe getting a PS4 or try downloading the game on my Mac just so the playing field can be more leveled and the game can run better.

I think I'm boutta get a PS4 today, mainly just for console Fortnite (overtime I'll probably get into other games though). Spent so much time on the Nintendo Switch version and I feel I deserve a better performing console. Also, with cross-platform matchmaking being pretty much mandatory now, my weak Nintendo Switch plays do not go well up against PS4, Xbox and PC players. Got like 2500 hours in on the game and spent a lot of money on V-Bucks. I deserve better.

Honestly, it won't make a difference. The only real difference you'll get is if you switch to a PC.
Out of 3 homies that I run squads with the most, 2 of them play on PS4 and one on PC. The only one that has the least problems is the dude on the PC.

We’ll see dawg. It can only get better than it is now haha. As a guy who have always depended on just Nintendo hardware throughout my life, I for once wanna get a power/performance boost. Not for Nintendo’s own IP, but for multi platform games. Considering how much I play Fortnite, I want the experience to be as good as possible, both in graphics and performance.

Sheeshhh I just got a PS4 and the difference between the Switch version and PS4 version of Fortnite is way bigger than I thought in terms of performance and graphics. Everything looks SO much better, and feels so much smoother. Feels like PS4 is like one or two generations ahead. I knew there was gonna be a difference but not this big. What a pleasant surprise. Also, for the first time I have access to Replay mode and STW. Those things were not on the Switch version.

aside from general latency issues, this season is pretty dam fun. Arena doesn't seem nearly as sweaty as previous seasons and loot pool is great for controller players.
