If you’re into space, this show is seriously like a gold mine. It may not follow the books exactly, but god damn what a show. Lee Pace and Jarrod Harris kill it. It feels like Apple spent all their money on this show, it’s beautiful. It spans the entire galaxy, you see ships creating a singularity so they can travel at warp speed, visit different planets constantly. It really feels like a tour of the galaxy with Game of Thrones type intrigue and mystery (and gore). This show is planned for 8 seasons, and Apple seems to improve shows with subsequent seasons, so I’ve got hope for it. If it was on HBO it would be f***ing huge
clip from episode 1 of a terrorist attack on a space elevator showing how epic this s*** is
bouta watch it thanks @op

no problem. you’re gonna love it. it’s got a great, unique plot and it’s smart. and it’s beyond beautiful to look at. you can tell Apple treated it like their big main show
lemme know how you like it bro
been meaning to watch this but I had forgotten. I'll put it in the queue since you gave it such high praise
there are a lot of really great Apple TV+ shows. underrated streaming service

they’re really turning into the prestige service.
but yeah put this up to the top of your queue, you’re not gonna regret it. it’s cosmic on a grand level and tries to stick to grounded science- like it’s set 12,000 years in the future but feels like that’s what humanity would really be like then. just remember the show is adapting what’s considered the greatest science fiction series ever written
felt like watching the first season of Game of Thrones or True Detective for me. but I’m really into astronomy so this show really captivated me
mmmm in, need to check more sci-fi shows
you’re not gonna regret this. as I mentioned earlier to someone else, it’s adapting the books that are considered the greatest scifi books ever written- so the story is spectacular.
it also never drags on in places because the season takes place over the course of 1000 years, so every episode there’s frequent time jumps and visits all over the galaxy, visiting planets that actually feel like they’re in deep, deep space. there’s no intelligent aliens either, so don’t expect a Star Wars type feel- it really makes the show better that way. and it’s got thrilling futuristic gore in it as well that stands out in a good way. the way it’s advertised makes it look like a young adult series but nah, it’s like Game of Thrones in space
sorry for the long reply lol it’s just that this show blew me away and I want to hook more people in to experience it
Unfortunately trash for me... cool visuals but being a fan of books and good sci fi I couldn't enjoy this show at any level (it's a bad adaptation and it's a mid sci fi show) And I was hella hype.
Few episodes are great tho - especially first one and 3rd or 4th ( the one where you see the cycle of Brother Dawn, Day, Night etc. )

See I never actually read the books myself, but I’ve watched tons and tons of videos on all the history and story and everything, so I’m well versed in that.
I understand book readers not liking it for the changes it made, but I personally loved it. I put it up there with The Expanse.
I really think season 2 is gonna be something special since Goyer said that we’ve earned The Mule, so I’m excited for how that’ll play out

also speaking of good scifi, I really want an adaptation of Roadside Picnic. I know Annihilation has a very similar plot, and Stalker already loosely adapted it, but I think Roadside Picnic is way more interesting
and I really hope Amazon gets it right with their Ringworld show. that’s my favorite scifi story and I could see them dumping a bunch of money into it since it has to be the most grand, awe inspiring s*** ever. I’m just afraid they’re gonna reduce the size of the ringworld and make it like Halo. the mind boggling scale of the mysterious structure is the best part for me:

Me personally am waiting for somebody with actual budget to pick up on "Rendezvous with Rama"
That s*** was such fire when I was a kid
For todays mind I'd love to have a "Revelations Space" maybe?

I thought the show was decent. Was really slow and it was hard to get invested in some of the storylines. I could see the seasons after this first one being good tho
Oh boi that would be amazing.
