Someone needs to do a top 10 list of fragrances that you can smell through the mask...well without over spraying I suppose
@thankmelater layton
One spray on my hand and that s*** hits HARD. I can see Why youâre saying 5 sprays is too much
Tried pdm herod and divine vanille by essential parfums side by side, and while they are quite similar, herod easily wins for me. Herod has more of that fruity cherry tobacco, while divine vanille goes more into the direction of dry vanilla with some incense. Its definitely built around the same dna though, theyre like 80-90% similar
You know damn well Obsession ain't timeless like that. Only those in the frag community would even appreciate that fragrance nowadays.
Everyone else would think you smell like someone's aunt
wasnt Obsession voted unanimously as the worst designer scent ever created? I read an article somewhere that said statistically it was I tried that s*** when I was a kid & I was like - Ouuuu thatâs rancid af

Nah its not bad at all lool
Just dated like colt said
Finally picked up a 125ml of Layton, smells beautiful but I canât stand the chalkboard texture of the bottle..
Fav gray/cloudy day fragrance, Lâeau DâIssey Miyake Intense (SOTD).
Literally smells like sweet Yuzu orange fruits scattered on freshly rained-on concrete.
Way too nice quality for its price point too, dry-down is to die for (can be worn at work EASILY).

Layton is godly
One of the best frags Iâve ever smelled. So clean, so regal & royal.
Smells like a rich lord who spends his time with his horses in stables. Rides out to his private pastures, maybe hunts if he feels like it.
Iâm going to use this frag if I ever buy an equestrian manor.
Some niche frags, literally blow all other frags out of the f***ing water. I wouldnât be surprised if some of them get macerated for 10 years + prior to releasing, theyâre so pungent & strong.
Sotd galleria cognac cafe
Would get a bottle instantly if they offered 30ml

It's better quality ingredients

Is that all it is though? Iâm tryn to know for myself eventually.
Like, because I use better/natural ingredients - even if I create a batch this year, itâll be crazy good?

Thats mostly what it is. Plus the processes a niche house can do that a Designer wouldn't have the luxury of doing. Take for example Dior. The demand for Sauvage is too crazy.
I can't be sitting here waiting for citrus from Italy or letting stuff mature. Throw me some synthetics and get that ish out the door.
I think it was Jeremy who said most of the vanilla in these fragrances isn't even real vanilla

facts, I really appreciate the knowledge my g!
Damn. So if you want to make a Creed-esque semi-niche house, make sure youâve got a stable & flowing connection for natural ingredients

That's why niche fragrances usually smell so different, crisper, and natural.
But then again like with Creed you'll run into different batch variations.
Aventus has the same ingredients, but I'm guessing 16 and 17 had the freshest pineapple, bergamot, etc they have been able to find
