I'd still check out Angels Share because it's a great scent that's pretty sexy. I've also been hearing stuff about Side Effect lately but I've never sampled it so I'll have to defer to someone else itt

what kinda scent profile do you mean tho. i think most people are recommending stuff like jazz club because of the tobacco/rum/vanilla mix which is kinda usually fit to that type of scent profile. might be a shot in the dark but maybe try like some Paco Rabanne or Guerlain fragrances? (edit: maybe even some JPG ones?)

quick reviews of the bdk sample box (took almost 7 weeks to arrive ) for fun

gris charnel - interesting cardamom smelling scent mixed w fig and wood. has an earthy but sweet quality to it. okay but not sure i'd go back to it
gris charnel extrait - like this far more than the regular version. smells far more tea-like with tonka & vanilla notes. bit darker and spicier. really good
velvet tonka - hate it, smells like wood varnish to me can't smell any of the actual notes in it beyond almonds
rouge smoking - supposed to smell like cherry & pepper w/ the top notes but smells very white floral and musky to me. smells more like fresh flowers than anything else w maybe an small cherry note. not for me
creme de cuir - smells like a JPG scent but more mature, bit more leathery w some citrus. like it though
wood jasmin - hate it, smells like straight up floral plum juice
pas ce soir - enjoyable mix of sweet citrus and florals. has a kind of oriental quality to it. not supposed to be for men but i think you could get away w it
tabac rose - this is the one strong rose and pink pepper with tobacco, cinnamon, and chocolate notes. the rose in this is amazing. has a kind of dark/noir quality to it because of the tobacco mixed w the rose. need a full bottle of this asap

@thankmelater baraonda was a good ass rec, smells like an old whiskey distillery aged whiskey barrels and warm wood and musk. love the little rose undertones too.

also tried black afghano from the same brand while i was there. really unique scent; i don't fully know what to make of it. smells like black opium incense, tobacco, and oud.

pretty sure Celine is very strict on not allowing resale under any circumstances vs other brands (inc. clamping down on distribution from "split" distributors). basically you gotta order and try the sample, you can return the main but its like they require a security deposit first

this black afghano isn’t ever coming off of me 1 day + 2 showers later and I can still smell it on my wrist. This s*** like permanently stained my skin

i wanted to vomit when i first tried black afgano, but to be fair it was the beginning of summer 2021 when i got the sample. i dont like loud weird stuff that much, that one just stinks

I actually like it tbh, at least in a vacuum, but idk what situation I could ever wear it in. To me it smells very incense-y, which I like, but it has a dampness/drugginess I don’t think I could get away w in public. I have better incense perfumes I’d prefer to wear by comparison. I only got a 2mL of it to sample luckily I don’t know what I’d do w a whole mf bottle
