First of all I’m not going to talk about him scamming fans with vinyls etc last year; that s*** is just obviously unprofessional and there’s not much to discuss here (but that’s a thing to keep in mind anyway)
What I’m going to talk about is how Frank finessed a lot of people on a major scale in an emotional/ideological way LMAO
Frank done dropped an emotionally relatable masterpiece with Blonde but also has always been pretty quiet about his habits/lifestyle
Which made his fans hook up on that emotional connection with his music and use it to fill the missing pieces of Frank persona in their heads
Result is people deadass thinking this:
But as @innuendo pointed out in some threads, Frank actually been materialistic from the jump and now, with Homer etc he’s actually that rich mf who does rich mf s*** and all those projected misconceptions about his persona begin to fall.
Y’all be talking about Frank being relatable and rejecting materialism meanwhile Frank is out there driving 911 GT3 and y’all don’t even own a regular Carrera lol.
Update: and of course I don’t think it’s some kind of an intentional finesse; rather just a case of people being mad delusional
rich people are androids who can’t have their hearts broken
That’s not even my point bro
it’s more like some ppl on here (including me) projected some sort of emotional hero archetype onto frank and whatever image that rich white boys put onto him was the real frank and all of us are either butthurt or too grown to care
TBH I never knew Frank’s fans viewed him that way until recently
they took "he just like me" seriously
I like the points you making OP, celebrity worship is a disease
It’s never a good idea to project some values/habits and build false images of celebrity in your head lol, you can end up playing yourself easily, that was my point, yep
Like Frank making and selling 2 million dollar jewelry doesn’t surprise me.
Now if someone like J Cole was on that type of time I could understand his fans feeling a way
ppl are writing this off as they should bc we were the dumbassess but i’ll say this
he meant a lot to black and brown non heterosexual men who were still masculine in their identity
that coming out open letter broke boundaries. ppl hate to admit but odd future meant a lot to the 18-25 crowd on here and when this songwriter who was making waves during the peak of his career decides to come out, it was huge.
that’s why when we see LNX it kinda hurts bc it seems to be run off controversy and clicks instead of actually making space for black and brown youth to be unconditionally queer.
i’ve seen this trajectory going for a long time but i’ll just say that frank can do whatever he wants hé a grown ass man. it was just disappointing to see his art cater to rich white folk more than anything lol
That’s not even my point bro
It absolutely is, you’re saying CO / Blonde is practically a sham because Frank isn’t a broke teenage kid, he’s in fact a rich black guy who has endless money and cars and was writing to seem relatable

Tbh lol
I’ve never followed Frank persona that much but for me he gives off more of that “rich but not in an obnoxious but rather tasteful way” vibe lol
the materialism was always there (starting with the custom-built Bimmer on the Nostalgia cover), tbh I always felt like he's being playful/ subversive about it, I think for me it was when he dropped Chanel and did the Calvin Klein ad I realized he got zero shame in being materialistic

jewelry is inherently an expensive item though? like you can’t make cheap luxury jewelry and be expected to taken seriously. He wants to make a brand that will outlast him. This isn’t a tee shirt that he’s selling for $300 because he can.

Not really lol, I literally said that Blonde is an emotional masterpiece in op and I’m pretty sure it’s genuine
The point is that Blonde subject matter has nothing to do with materialism etc but his fans used that emotional connection to fill blank spaces in Frank’s public persona with projections. Not his fault btw so the finesse was kinda unintentional I guess
