Both are prolific storytellers. First album was groundbreaking for thier respective era.

Came out at practically the same time, built organic buzz by way of classic mixtapes predating their major label releases. Both have been reclusive/virtually nonexistent until their music surfaces

Both go long stretches of time with no album, with no hint of any to come and generally set the entire industry on fire at the first sign of an album to come (usually with some surprise drop information)

Both seemingly take their music extremely personally and brood over the process to the point of being obsessive and their albums tend to have more of a subtext/ concept, add general think piece rather than surface level material.

The parallels are strikingly similar.
