I used to stan Frank, but the dude can’t sing like anyone you listed there, let alone like Stevie. Chill. He’s a crooner with occasional beautiful moments at best. Even frank would probably raise his eyebrows at being compared to his idols like that b

Tbh his skills lie in his songwriting and his overall taste. But Voice doesnt even matter in music that much. if it did then niggas like phil elverum and elliot smith wouldnt have classics

Elliott Smith was a beautiful singer though, not sure what you’re on about, and no Microphones or Mount Eerie récord sold like Frank or even garnered the recognition Elliott did when he was alive (Good Will Hunting oscar nod/performance). I agree with you though but Frank is hailed as this amazing singer with an angelic voice when he really isn’t, I think he’s aware of this too

Lost me at the lame ass star wars references b. And you’ve unknowingly proven my point, that cover is more falsetto crooning, which is the most impressive thing he can do. Try comparing their live performances to boot. And bro you linked Summer Soft, you’re trippin balls if you think Frank Ocean can sing like that, most actual tenors can’t even sing like Stevie. Stevie is probably the greatest singer that ever lived, at least within popular music. Frank is just not and never will be on this level. It was all well and good before, but people trying to make Frank seem like some sort of vocal god are just ridiculous. And if you want to see just how badly D’Angelo and Marvin destroy frank in the falsetto singing lane don’t worry bro I can link numerous examples. Or their entire discographies. And at least Stevie and D were actual musicians, on top of everything else, could do a helluva lot more than just sing, while Frank seems to struggle with some basic keyboard progressions live.
