f*** off with this s***. every time someone says this the person they’ve got in mind is some fugazi bullshit like mac ayres or some s*** never anything good. even the lesser known stuff doesn’t cut the mustard it’s weak what gets recommended.
spicy ass post
lol someone had to say it. I be wanting music to give me goosebumps and none of the recs this site gives does that for me these days
the only one which moved me that the site champions is that bussin album from devin morrison outside that it’s been weak as piss
spicy ass post
spicy pissy idc im calling a spade a spade. r&b has not been good for ages. there’s nothing since late nights that has come close to that album and that’s 8 years ago
I like how cheap it sounds
Frank got yall in a crazy chokehold
Sounds like a you problem, not gonna lie.
You don't like artists like Sampha, Lianne La Havas, Erika De or Kelela?
All released great R&B albums this decade.
sampha and kelela two artists who started out 10 years ago at least. lianne la havas is alright but that’s not moving me and she started years ago too. there hasn’t been much good in years

nah i agree with you bro pretty broadly, whenever you try to critique the current state of music just in general, there’s always some dismiss yourself/dynmk YouTube algorithm baby telling you that everything’s fine, you’re just not looking lmao
that album is also one of my favorites ever, s***s a masterpiece
i think R&B wise Lianne La Havas’ self titled album, L’Rain’s Fatigue, Sabrina Claudio’s Based On A Feeling, Kelsey Lu’s Blood (although it’s sorta more folk/pop tbh) are some standouts recently, but largely R&B (particularly mainstream) has been fairly mediocre

I mean there were dope moments but they were just that, moments. To me the set as a whole was a mess and one of the biggest disappointments of my life, no exaggeration
Over it

i often listen to the artists way before they’re hipped lianne la havas knew her for years before her self titled. i don’t think that there hasn’t been any good r&b albums but just a lot less compared to what it used to be

At the very least he had peoples good graces with 4 years of hype and excitement, now 7+ years on and after Coachella the narrative has changed heavy. Everything is gonna be scrutinized to death, the reaction to a little snippet like this alone
