I know madlib has thoughts on posthumous albums and for good reason
But I’d love to hear what that maclib album was sounding like. Really could’ve been Mac’s best, straight to the point rap album. with that madlib structure and album formula but Mac plugged into it
I don’t remember how much of it was completed.
Last time I heard, it was an EP but Madlib was willing to release it if the family was cool with it.
That’s true!
But there’s apparently a whole album between those 2 just collecting dust that’s never leaked.
if i remember correctly i think madlib said in an interview that a collab album wasn't really planned out like that and that mac was more just freestyling over his beats

It's unreal how much Madlib's beats compliment the artists he works with, bro got a beat for anybody. If your momma started rapping, Madlib would have the perfect beat for her in his vault.
I'm confident we'll get a couple of songs from them if Mac's estate is to release a posthumous compilation. People have been happy enough with how Circles was handled, so I think a compilation album wouldn't be controversial.
On a side note, Mac's family allowed FlyLo to implement an unused Mac verse to a song he added onto his GTA radio
EDIT:
omg i forgot this song was cleared to drop too

Oh damn we might get it! I know Mac’s DJ and friend was on Reddit recently saying to stop sharing leaks because they’re putting together a compilation with some unreleased stuff.

Last Mac related post because I realised I kind of swayed this whole thread
But youre totally right.
Also if you want some more insight into how Mac’s friends saw him, Thundercat was on Marc Maron’s podcast last week and went deep into how his death affected him and flylo. Made them both clean up their habits and start living better. Maron just lost his girlfriend last year so they have a great convo about grief and losing loved ones
shiittttttt
Great interview @Soupvillain
"Metro Boomin hit me. I’m ready to really go in."
Freddie said it in this Vulture interview

Great interview @Soupvillain
should be a great collab this
He had a vision, and I had my vision, and we just couldn’t come to a common agreement. I don’t hate the man or anything of that nature, not at all. At one point, I looked up to him. And I still respect everything that he did musically. I still listen to his music. So, like I said, man, maybe one day, who knows?
honestly not sure how i feel about this
There’s only one way to feel about this p**** boy
Commercial Gibbs is coming
Gibbs has to be one of the most charismatic older rappers in the game. Him and 2 Chainz cut from the same cloth in that regard
Great interview @Soupvillain
Yeah whole thing was a good ass read overall. Gibbs seems cool as f***, and he’s hella tapped into everything which I love
honestly not sure how i feel about this
To Be Honest..
Gibbs has an better understanding of his limitations of what he can and can’t do more than Big Sean does.
I liked the Sean & Metro tape but it’s not what we needed or wanted at that time.
