This hip hop bro. If it was the old days there would be wayyyy more rappers going at cole for what he did lol. He's getting off pretty easy MC wise
Gibbs for one ain't got an inch to speak
“Ruthless” is the one
Wolverine might be top 5 rap tracks this year so he killed that s***
this is cool. not crazy about gibbs output the last few years but think beats + rapping are pretty solid across the board here. main issue for me is that i think he repeats/contradicts himself a bit, maybe doesn't touch on new ground/subject matter a lot and that combined with losing a lil bit of the raw energy of his earlier to mid career stuff makes this lack a bit of punch. it's the natural progression of somebody who has been in the game a long time and been successful but yeah.
you'd think j cole would have a mbdtf tier album the way his fans put him over people
He has 1 classic album with FHD, one great album with The Off Season, and 2 classic mixtapes with The Warm Up and FNL.
Rest of the discography ranges from coo to trash
$$$ lowkey sucks
Disagree
Has some great songs on it like Blackest In The Room, Lobster Omelette and Dark Hearted
Freddie overall got a way better discography then Cole
I don’t think Cole has an album that can touch Piñata or Bandana.
always thought SSS was mixed really weird or something? like they had the volume too low.
Why are the last few pages of this thread about Cole
they might delete that s***

Yes, will never forgive them for what they did to PYS with the awful mix/master
However, this album is mixed by the same guy who did SSS, and it sounds incredible, genuinely some of the best engineering I’ve heard all year
So lol I dunno what happened with SSS

The one exception, wtf are with his vocals on the opening track
Brick Fees - Rabbit Island - It’s Your Anniversary might be the best three track run of his career
The 5 run of Yeah Yeah to Origami is just OD

it’s raw af
you know what today is?
Freddie has a Top 5 flow oat, idc what anyone says
Yeah I’m talking about what he says in music not interviews.
I have noticed he’s become more of a podcast guest than rapper recently.
Unfortunately, I don't forget none of that and all sorts of suspensions of disbelief would have to be lifted for me to listen to him again seriously
