I’ve lived all over the world and it’s annoying but other than the art hoes women just get really easily thrown off by music they’re not used to. It’s pretty a well known phenomenon, when I worked in nightlife all of the music was curated to the tastes of women because (a) you really want women in there to keep the ratio of the venue right and (b) they’re highly opinionated on music and have a lower tolerance for niche stuff. This is a deliberate and understood shorthand for DJ’s, venue owners, etc. Often times if we played a kinda obscure or new song and the girls really liked it we knew the song would be a hit.
Obv I can play whatever around my girlfriend who I live with but in general, pretty understood you can’t put on like Mf doom around women or something.
