We are not selling placements please stop spreading hate. We don’t make money from music. As you can see, everything on our website is completely free, with no ads. If you took the time to actually look at our site instead of hating, you’d see that we even feature DJs who upload to our platform on the front page as legendary DJs scroll down

I was talking about the income streams being hollowed out by streaming platforms. Physical media was a second life for movies. That's gone. Theatric runs are shorter. People are conditioned to just wait for it to come out on streaming. Royalty checks for television actors services are microscopic compared to television. The seasons are shorter and less punctual. I'm sure you know the music side. The metric of "sales" being redefined to mean "streams" says it all.

Here's a recent book on the stuff you're talking about. The author did an episode of The Culture Journalist podcast if you're interested in an overview. One of the things in the podcast is that he mentions he didn't talk about gaming. There are whole categories people spend their time on separate from those legacy ones (live streams, short form video).
