I must say this as a fan of both Ye and Drae.

Whatever imaginary all time race Ye and Drake are both running to their respective fans and hip hop in general I will say this.

If Drake was gaining ground the past few years Or if he was way surpassed Ye, however you want to view it..

2021 has Kanye gaining ground or extending his gap (which every way you want to look at it)

I think with him having a better album, selling well, having a classic performance on the same stage and having a better promo run, all culminated in him showing the difference in levels (at least this year)

Again depending on how you want to slice it.

Discography: kanye. No explanation needed.

Cultural impact: closeish, but its kanye. Fashion, stage design, aesthetic, cult following, etc.

Musical ability: kanye. Drake is a better rapper yes, but a better emotive song writer, no. Also, Kanye can have a verzuz against Drake and a separate one against all his

Performance: kanye is a better performer as we seen last night. The man isnt in his prime anymore and still out performed drizzy who is in his prime.

Love drake man. He’s one of the goats. Top 10 if not 5, but theres levels. I just think Hov and Ye are in an untouchable tier of their own. And if Drake ends up number 3 or number 4, that isnt a slight at all. Thats massive. Especially coming from Toronto and dominating an American space.
