If everyone got held to the same standards there would probably be nobody left to do the cancelling.

Best believe they would've gotten him out the paint if he was culturally relevant today

Can we get a list of who's been "canceled" and what that actually means

Didn't even know he still had a show until I saw headlines about him saying some s*** about covid.

@op You can get cancelled for anything. Just who has the loudest voice and the platforms you care about.

Chris Pratt is super religious and they have tried to get on him, but people love Marvel much more to cancel him

yeah that’s true, there are definitely more factors that just one particular thing

i do feel, though, that there are some things that make you a target, and Covid is one of them since it’s such a serious topic that’s claiming many lives and disrupting many things

i feel like if he came out and did similar covid content as rogan they would have “resurfaced” those clips

But he hasn't and won't so what's the argument here? Why hasn't someone culturally irrelevant been retroactively cancelled for something he hasn't said?

  • Feb 17, 2022

Because people under 25 don’t know who Howard Stern is

If you have to go to the lengths of justifying what your saying with free speech should it really be said? The intention of it was to call out government overeach not giving people the right to say what they want without consequences

But also to be canceled you have to actually have an audience that will stop listening to you.
Chris Brown has been canceled so many times but his audience doesn’t care so he remains popular.

Just wanna let you know OP quoting “they” like that in this context is a pretty antisemitic dogwhistle

my argument is that, it takes something like providing alternative covid content to get people to care about the bad s*** you did, so my question is,

do people actually care about what they are trying to cancel you for? or are they just using that to push their own agenda, and are just using that as a gateway for their own benefit

oh i agree, and i’m not saying people shouldnt have consequences, i’m saying, why do only some people receive consequences?

that’s true too, and i guess same could be said about kanye and rogan, but it’s the attempts that interest me

like if chris brown said some anti vax bs would they then start bringing up the domestic abuse again?
