So this is what spotify pays the artist and not the label/producers?

This is total streaming revenue the song earned it doesn’t factor producer / artist splits into it

Honestly Nevermind made almost 10 mil

Ik it’s f***ing crazy. And that’s just off streaming not even touring

Q: How long did it take to create this website?
A: Built this from start to finish in 2 weeks

Q: Did you spend months on it or is it something you can set up fast?
A: I’ve played around with accessing Spotify’s interns api before which made it easier - figuring out how to access the api is the hardest part for sure

Q: Is a site like this hard to make?
A: I write code for my full time job so it wasn’t that hard - especially with ai tools you can create the site super quick.

Q: Where do you pull your data for stream counts?
A: This comes directly from Spotify’s internal database. You can verify the counts by looking at the Spotify desktop app.

Q: Do you plan on adding a monthly subscription?
If yes what would the price be?
A: Yes! I want to setup some sort of alert system for trending songs and will probably offer that up as a subscription + enhanced api access. Thinking around $100 a month?

    Appreciate the response...

I think your idea is great because there’s nothing like it rn and ppl are obsessed with tracking streams. If your site works properly this could be a big opportunity imo.

My next question is could Spotify or someone else sue you for this? Like if you're accessing their data without permission? Just thinking out loud, I’m not sure if they actually could but I figured I’d ask especially if your site blows up.

$100 is way too much lmao $10 a month is plenty. If enough ppl sign up you’d still make good money 1000 users would mean $10k a month and that’s recurring since it’s a subscription based.

The only issue I see is if Spotify doesn’t release numbers on time which happens all the time. Kworb has this problem every week when Spotify is too slow with the update it messes up their whole system/site and they need time to fix the numbers.

How would you handle that? If ppl are paying for a subscription everything has to run smoothly right? I think your idea is solid but the only real concern I see is potential legal trouble down the road.

$100 for 2 weeks of work? right

  • According to this site, Chromokopia made more money than Meagan's last two albums combined.

GNX made more than both of them.

Nicki's last album also sold more.

Lol damn, you guys are hating. If he actually got to the point where it was a viable SaaS.. you think it’s just the initial labour involved and then you set it and forget it? And this would likely be in the realm of business software.. wait until you find out how much people pay per month for s*** like that. Something like Ahrefs for search engine data is over $100 a month and you could arguably get that data through free channels.. but it’s a matter of convenience and insights the platform provides.

Thanks for all this feedback!! totally agree that as streamng gets bigger and bigger more people are becoming obsessed with the stats. Spotify could totally sue me if this goes viral and gets big. At end of the day the reason why I can do this is because spotifys tech / security is super lazy so its kinda their own fault they are exposing this data to the public.

Totally hear you on $10 a month being plenty. I was moreso imagining selling this to records labels / A&Rs which is why I went with $100. Ill for sure have a personal monthly subscription for $0.99 a month. what type of features would you want?

I can also guarantee that all my data will be 100% synced with spotifys data. Because im accessing their internal database I doubt ill have the same issues as kworb

lololol I said $100 bc I thought only record labels and A&Rs would want this. ill offer a personal tier for $0.99 a month. lmk what features you would want!

It seems harder then I thought to get the precise data of the album from my aggregator

But I might have spoken to soon… maybe…

I could only look at all my income(from all my albums, not just the one I put in on your website) and the see my yearly outcome, and maybe things could add up.
