NothingIssure, but areas with high black & latino populations already do get the most surveillance by the cops & consistently also have higher violent crime rates in the areas, despite having more cops around
the only thing you can conclude from that is more cops being in the area doesn’t do s*** to actually stop any of the crime, and since most crime goes unpunished, they’re basically useless
more cops does lead to less crime. NPR isn’t Republican by any means:

This is a false counterfactual. There will always be crime. The fact that there’s still crime in heavily policed areas doesn’t mean police don’t stop crime. It just means they don’t stop all crime. You’d have to compare it to a world with zero police
