i was curious one day cos as a musician i like to nerd out n study stuff so went back to that record and i think it aged good, his voice was always a stand out because it’s so high pitch, but great sense of melody and he wrote and self produced his stuff (some of it is really clean) and would hop in lyrics that weren’t common, finding out about that gave me a new appreciation
he won back then a victoire de la musique award for that album (ceremony held by the minister of culture) that was given to him by the destiny’s child
he’s kinda like the-dream before he was a thing? im assuming he was influenced by r kelly
