look.. I'm no where near famous or "made it" status but I've come a long way from where I was 1-2 years ago making music.. I made a thread 2 years ago asking for feedback on my songs and it got little to no responses and the few responses that I got were just nitpicking on my songs.. but fast forward to today, the same songs have done massive amount of streams.. and getting me closer to being able to live off this music s*** and have dope ass experiences.

I want to give out some game/advice/tips to any artist here that's trying to take this to the next level cause I believe what goes around comes around and I know how it feels to have the dreadful 0 replies on your thread..

so go ahead, and ask me anything !

The reason why it's the hardest thing for you, is because it's the secret formula that you have to crack in order for you to succeed as an artist/

As an independent artist, you are not going to have the same resources/budget BUT that's when networking and reaching out comes in to play.

    DO'S & DON'T's

    DO:

Reach out to small influencers and content creators.. be prepared to spend money, money talks.. its the universal language.
I personally hit up a lot of meme accounts/lower tier social influencers to use my songs in the background of content that they produced.
You can literally just DM them, 8/10 chances they will respond.. and better yet, email them if they have a business email.

    DO NOT:
Don't do generic Facebook Ads/Instagram ads with the artwork and song playing... that s*** simply doesn't work unless you have the most compelling song ever after listening to it for 1 second.. cause chances are, the person viewing the ad is going just tap right and skip that s***. NO ONE likes watching ads, that's why you should use social influencing/content.

    DO:

TikTok isn't corny, I still haven't been able to go viral on TikTok (mainly from not trying yet) but definitely promote yourself on TikTok and view yourself as a brand.. be personable.
Look at "The Rock" on WWE.. he literally became an icon from his personality and how much he believed in his character. people feed off that energy, believe in your own music/brand and then others will too.

    DON'T:

DO NOT USE Playlist services.. all of that s*** is stupid. Sure, you're going to get a bunch of plays at first.. and then what happens when you don't continue paying to be on the playlist?
and its even cornier when you find out that all those streams were robots that weren't even real people who could've potentially become fans. It looks cool, the number of plays you get.. but those numbers aren't real.
One of my songs is on over 57,000 playlist and I didn't use a single playlisting service.. I just marketed it correctly.

bet man!! This is all good to know. Up until this point, my music wasnt very marketable tbh for these new generation listeners. So tiktok and marketing was my biggest hurdle

Now this new project im working on is very tik tok friendly without sacrificing my integrity. And allows me to be more comfortable with myself as an image.

The dont on playlisting is new to me tho ive always tried to Get on playlists but to no avail
