The characters not even ATTEMPTING to find the light house has got to be some of the dumbest writing I’ve seen
I understand being scared of the tree. F*** that tree.
I understand it’ll probably be very hard to find the light house on foot.
But how is nobody ATTEMPTING to find it???? How how HOW?????
You talking the man in the yellow suit that killed Jim?
Or Fatima saying they sacrificed their kids to live forever?
Yellow suit
So it’s S4 and nobody is even trying to find the lighthouse….
Yet everybody keeps b****ing and complaining about going home and ahhhh we trapped here ahhhhhh….
Yet there’s a light house….
That Tabitha was able to travel home….
And not one single person is trying to find it….
I understand they thought the tree would get them there and Dale died through the tree…
But Boyd & Sarah knows there’s a way to get to the light house without the tree…
Even if they don’t remember how they got there, they know there’s a light house and that light house took Tabitha home…. Yet…. NO BODY IS EVEN TRYING TO FIND IT WHY WHY WHYYYYY…. JUST AT LEAST TRYYYY TO FIND IT… WHAT TF IS WRONG WITH THESE IDIOTS
i think in a similar way to Lost, hope of escaping diminishes to the point of not even trying, the whole show focuses on how the town tears apart your spirit
i mean the fact tabitha has landed back after escaping actually would show to the rest of them that maybe theres no true escape from the place
in Lost they finally decided to work together and build a raft to try escape the island, but that didnt work, and they never really tried again cos it felt hopeless
I think its the same thing here, logically they should all band together and escape together but the town has shown to them it wont be that simple, so they find it better to work out how to defeat it instead

That would make sense to me if all the people in town arrived the same time like in Lost.
There is no way that the cop lady lost hope like everyone else, she just got there. I think out of anyone she should be the one out there trying to find the light house. If she fails that’s perfectly fine but at least try.
All she does is walks around b****ing about the rules. She should be the most eager to finding a way out because none of her plans have failed yet.
I can understand Boyd slowly giving up because of everything that’s happened. But I’m sorry if I’m new in town and hear “hey I was able to get back home through the light house” I’m going to search for that light house asap.
ESPECIALLY because the woman who said it is the same woman you just told “omg im sorry for not listening to you about this place”

Also if the writers are trying to go for that angle of feeling hopeless, you have to make the audience feel like there’s no hope either.
If they had a character make it to the light house and nothing happened, then I would 100% feel like damn there’s literally no hope for them wow.
Cus with Lost they made the raft it failed. What other options did they have? I can’t remember the later seasons cus it’s been a while but I don’t remember them having much clear cut options.
It’s just hard to root for characters to make it home when they haven’t even tried to search their ONE valuable option.
Like they’ll build radios and fly drones and go down tunnels where the demonic niggas live but no one wants to search for the light house? The ONLY place that you know 100% someone made it home by going there. Hmmm okay.
Imagine a small group go on a quest to find the light house, after 3-4 episodes they finally make it and bam nothing happens. WOW the pain.
They come back to town and tell everyone that the light house did nothing. Now they can feel hopeless. Now I believe it.
And S3 definitely had room to do a side plot like that. Some of the side plots they wasted time on wasn’t as compelling.
Kenny please tell me that made your antennas go up!
You just found out Jim died and you gotta go help and the “Sophia chick” response is “but you said we would go get me some new glasses”
She just showed you she gives no f***s cus she’s a demonic creature wake up!
I swear my natural trust issues would make me great in a situation like this

I thought the same thing in ep1 when he’s telling her about the town, the monsters, the talismans and she’s just kinda like oh okay. She was way too nonchalant for him to not be suspicious but I get it, he’s probably mentally done after everything that’s happened to his family.

Nah I get it for sure but damn I just want my boy to win. Dude lost everything smh. Prolly rooting for him the most
Also the whole Julie time travel thing and “you can’t change the story” is 100% false right? Because then how did she toss Boyd the rope to help him?

Do you like how Julie and Tabitha’s lives are parallel now?
Like mother like daughter
Smh I get Tabitha is mad about her husband dying but she’s doing extremely too much. YOU was the one who dug the hole. YOU was the one who was desperate to find answers about these kids and now you hate Jade because he helped you and wish he died?? Weird
Just to nit pick about the writing, but one thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is how everyone talks the same.
“For a long things were more….. it happens a lot more now”
“It’s about Jim he…. They left a message”
“We were in the tent and then this thing…. We’re lucky we made it back”
Every single character when retelling a story they always start a sentence and they pause to have you fill in the blank and then they continue.
I know part of a writing rule is “don’t relay information we know over and over” and that’s probably what they are doing here but it’s a little annoying because they do it over and over and over again by every single character and it’s obvious.
I wish more people was active ITT like with Euphoria or Pluribus. I refuse to discuss this show or any show on Reddit
Once again, this female cop as a character makes ZERO sense. You’ve been told “I made it back home through the light house” and instead of trying to find that s***, you hop in the ambulance and try and drive over and over and you’re yelling about “IM ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING ALL U PPL DO IS SIT AROUND WITH YOUR TALISMANS!!”
Okay then why don’t you actually try and find the light house?? Why doesn’t anyone????!

I liked it more before I read some of the dumb theories on Reddit lol but it’s definitely interesting how some of their choices seem to reflect one another. I find the story walking a bit confusing though.
Your other post though about the writing, that’s what always gets to me too, some of the things they say and decisions these townspeople make just confuse me.

I feel like at some point she’s gonna tell everyone what Boyd did at the end of S3 to turn people against him.

Wait what theories you saw on reddit?
Wait what theories you saw on reddit?
The dumbest one I saw was about Julie being Tabitha but younger, not her daughter but actually her. Little far fetched to me, even for this show. But mostly ones about Man in Yellow and characters he might’ve been, some theories about dead people reincarnating into monsters, some about Victor’s drawings and if they’re prophetic, just random stuff. I don’t post on there but sometimes they’ve got interesting ideas.

Yeah I dont think I would buy into the whole Julie is Tabitha but the whole Tabitha thing is interesting. Because if Im understanding correctly that would technically make her Victors mom being shes Miranda?
And then Miranda and Chris had a kid? So she cheated on Victors dad with Chris? Am I mixing s*** up or is that basically what had happened
