    "Not a red line"...what a psychopath.

"If it doesn't make money, it doesn't make sense" I guess.

If China can get away with it, whats to stop other countries from starting a genocide and putting its population in concentration camps for simply not agreeing with their politics?

Maybe EU should start opening up to North Korea now, as long as Kim Jung Un provides it with a pretty sweet deal, right? F*** the North Koreans, who cares, right?

    F*** this s***.

the entirety of modern history post WW2 is basically just major countries allowing genocide elsewhere in exchange for strategic partnership economically or geopolitically

But it’s all because the Americans and Europeans showed all the tech and they just took what they showed and mass produced it

China military power and defense spending to surpass US by 2038

The China First strategy will be met head-on by an America First strategy. Hence the “arms race” in tech spending which in both countries is intimately linked with defense spending. Note military spending by the US and China is forecast by the IMF to rise substantially in coming decades, but the stunner is that by 2050, China is set to overtake the US, spending $4tn on its military while the US is $1 trillion less, or $3tn.

This means that some time around 2038, roughly two decades from now, China will surpass the US in military spending, and become the world's dominant superpower not only in population and economic growth - China is set to overtake the US economy by no later than 2032 - but in military strength and global influence as well.

    well bad luck

doesn't help that many developing countries trust Chinese investment over American investment

look at, Bolivia CCP offered them better deal then Elon Musk for the lithium (soon to became one most important resources on the planet)

  • How many countries actually boycotted china?

yes but what can Europe even do without America that is actively on their side? If they both would build an alliance and let other powers like Japan, South Korea, Australia etc. join in, then China wouldn't be the bully that it is right now. But they are too intermingled with China to just cut them off like that, it has to be gradually and force China to do reforms or stay behind. Chinas allies don't have anything useful to do in this "fight"..its as simple as that. Competent leaders and politics, and China will back down on the Uighur crackdown..

Assimilation of minoritygroups is a top priority for any authoritarian state to ensure that political influence can't be weakened.
A gradual cut off won't accomplish anything because the benefits of prosecuting muslims outweigh the minor economic drawbacks (the drawbacks might be even worse for the west than for china).
This isn't just about the Uighurs, it's about inner mongolia, tibet, taiwan, hk and other minoritygroups in china.
If the west doesn't condone this right now china will keep pushing on with their agenda because they know nobody is gonna do s*** about it

blame every business who readily shipped their production/jobs to china for cheap labor thus enabling China’s growth and Xi’s power. capitalism, baby!
