Testing a day after exposure will most likely get you a false negative if you actually got it though.

And I already got tested once last month; so if I’d gotten it between then and now we’d know.

I’ve been exposed to it in the past, so I’m getting tested regardless of whether that party happened.
If my roommate had it before and I was negative, I doubt I have it now
