Why do people put all their hope and expectations on men like Jay Z who are so clearly only out for themselves

I think we’ve reached the brink of full-blown class warfare. The protests may have started because of George Floyd, but have clearly been galvanized by the pandemic & resulting economic downturn (40% unemployment)

Ppl are broke, hungry & angry. There are definitely bad actors who are taking advantage of the chaos for selfish reasons but the facts remain the same

Not to mention the fact that our president actively fuels the fires of divisiveness in our country...

Hov already explained this s***. It's not charitable or altruistic if you give money to organizations and associate it with your name and face -- that's promotion, for yourself. It's not activism if you only act when the spotlight is on you, and the spotlight is always on Jay when our community and culture is involved.

10/10 chance he's already taken real, tangible action rather than signaling with empty platitudes on IG stories or Twitter.

Hov only speaks up after making sure his statement won't have negative effect on any of his businesses.
