He doesnt sit down and write lyrics. Its mostly freestyle, he got an idea what he will talk about, but its mostly freestyle
Source is yourself dumbass
Also solo is not good. It’s mediocre music
Solo by Frank the only song that made me bawl real tears for a good few mins
soon as Kendrick tried doing that with DAMN, he was dominating lmao and it was rly just a few songs that were really intended for the charts/clubs
Do you really think so about damn? I mean I kinda get what you’re saying how it had big hits over “trap inspired” production but regardless I don’t think any trap fans took it seriously like that, seemed more like satire to me

you saying kendrick only "tried" that starting with DAMN ?
Where were you in the early 2010s lol
That tweet is bait. But Future’s version of Drunk In Love proves there’s at least a little bit of crossover in my opinion
You don’t remember the Frank song where he literally quoted Karl Marx’ communist manifesto?
Is this a joke lol

listening to GKMC and TPAB which were unlike anything popular at the time

it was popular hip hop. I don't think he was making trap s*** but it was no doubt still popular and songs like LOVE, DNA, Humble, Element were in the clubs no doubt.
just because you can type doesn't mean you should you feel me
"you feel me" got me cryin for some reason lol

Ok. What I’m thinking is Kendrick tried to make “hits” kind of in a way to “prove he can make hits” but that’s not Future’s lane. He never goes into it tryna make hits he just stumbles upon them from time to time. And I don’t think Future makes music for the club, he’s not Migos lol. No matter what, Kendrick could never pop in futures lane like future does. He can do the pop rap really successfully tho I will admit that

But that's 1 out of all those songs and that doesn't help your point
Goosebumps was before damn too

GKMC's biggest hit was a song about how terrible drinking is lmao. Backseat Freestyle is also an ironic song as well. My point is Kendrick didn't seriously try to make real hits until DAMN.

If you don't think Kendrick was trying to make hits I literally have no idea how you were paying attention to his entire run

I'd say I was paying clear attention to his run. If you really think Swimming Pools or Backseat Freestyle or even Poetic Justice are examples of him trying to make hits then you weren't paying attention to the kind of songs that were hits at the time because he was lyrically, thematically and musically veering far from that.

Why are you fixating on those I gave like 10 songs
Don't lie to me and say they didn't intend for collard greens to be a hit too especially with how it released either. You dont accidently become one of the biggest rappers in history
