Kanye influence is more in fashion than it is in music

what did he influence musically besides popularizing chipmunk beats

    ahistorical revisionism

not even touching 808s but there are soooo many projects that take from yeezus

  • GONE

Kanye is a vermin and I know there’s increased inclination to diminish his quality at every opportunity - including in comparison to one’s own preferred rappers - but we gotta accept that nigga is the goat of this rap music s***. Niggas not Ye man not even goat Pluto in this case

this site is so ahistorical and revisionist

you may be right about yeezus in the experimental scene

808s influence is very overstated as if Tpain aint exist. It influenced Kid Cudi and Travis scott whoopty doo

Mixtape Pluto is a top 3 future project for me but why would you consider it structured

idk tbh i never thought about it too much

it feels like three acts with each act ending with a softer/slower/more vulnerable song (ocean, surfing a tsunami, lost my dawg)

idk if “structured” is the correct word but idk i just get a high when i listen to the whole project through

ultralight beam has not aged well

    i still like TLOP tho

    how has it not?

i dont think a lot of artists have tried to copy kanye's sound in music but a lot of people still cite him as a great influence... which probably has more to do with kanye's ethos that artists are moved by

Bonus if that artist is in the same realm of critical and commercial success

Artists pull from multiple inspirations to synthesize something representative of themself
