I liked it for him, but as this f***ed up ethos that people are actually following, it’s a bit disturbing.

    the album is great

21 named his album Issa yall didn’t say s***

I have wanted to have a discussion on 21 s "I am" or whatever it's called. That was the beginning of street rappers making pseudoiartistic, redundant streambait. The marketing for that album was super influential the first astroworld rehash tbh.

  • May 20, 2020

its not the fault of casual fans that future is trash

What does this mean? He's showing some character growth in his person or somewhere in his real life that he wanted to show he's growing as an artist for that album

Same, clean minimalist aesthetic followed by cheesy, mega-casual friendly beats and presented as somehow objectively better than their previous works. Same exact thing as astroworld, so much fun, metro boomin album, eternal Atake, and now the new future, not one of which was worth finishing

Getting memed is not the same thing dumbass. This album is like the follow up tweet when someone didn't expect to go viral and is basically begging for your money

  • May 20, 2020

The album is amazing lmao he’s just capitalizing off the hype the misogyny memes got him and you can’t blame him, he’d be stupid not to exploit it and the proof that it’s working is that this is his best selling album this late into his career and it was a surprise drop too

Why do you consider his merch drop as him “begging for your money?” Lol? If you know something would earn u money you would drop it he knows well there are people who are gonna buy these shirts so he is capitalizing off it.

Sad to break it to you but rappers are not pure angels who don’t care about money and just want to see their fans happy

  • May 20, 2020

white people are ruining future and its disgusting

    source: am white

  • May 20, 2020

it’s literally just the merch relax let him be clever and capitalize on it

It's not putting out merch that's bad it's that the whole album is an obvious vehicle to drive merch sales and streaming numbers. I don't listen to music for artists to get rich I listen to hear good music. Thus I'm not gonna hype up music that only exists to serve a purpose I don't care about. Imagine buying future merch rn when there's artists literally starving without the ability to tour

Future making meme merch =/= future making meme rap

Do people think before they post on this forum anymore?

  • May 20, 2020

Also this claim is very unfounded, because if anything he's sitll making the same music that he has done for the past what - 5 years now?

I would not say hes "making meme music" hes playing into the preexisting memes with his music though, but he woulda been making this music regardless. It's now only "meme" because his "misogyny" became a meme unfortunately but that's just internet weirdos forcing him into a lane

What do you think of being a meme?

I like the memes but I’d love it if I got paid off of them.

    That would be dope.

I should be able to get some money off of it. That’s why I don’t know why people like Instagram so much, because you don’t get paid from it. You get $0 from it but you quick to put your life out there just for free. I’d rather get paid for it. That’s the only thing I don’t like about the memes of me. I don’t get paid for them. But it’s free promotion, so it’s a win-win at the end of the day, because you want people to still be talking about you no matter what.

Now I’ve been hearing that ‘she belongs to the streets.’ I be going around and they be saying, ‘Say it on camera.’ I be like, ‘Please, bruh, that sh*t was one day, I don’t feel like that today.’ People want you to go back to that moment and relive that sh*t every time they see you. “Say it on camera…” You know, with my family right there — they aren’t even supposed to know about this sh*t.

You keep reminding me I did this sh*t. It’s a bad moment: You going into a restaurant, trying to eat, you trying to be halfway regular, somebody telling you about, ‘Bruh she belongs to the street,’ and it’s like, ‘Ah man.’ You get reminded you’re Future.
