    "On Thursday (Jan. 11), the Chicago rapper, real name Herbert Wright, was sentenced to three years probation by a Massachusetts District Court after pleading guilty to wire fraud charges, Rolling Stone reported. G Herbo had previously pleaded guilty in July of 2023 to one charge of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and one charge of making false statements to a federal official.

    The charge of wire fraud conspiracy provides for a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, up to five years of supervised release and a fine of $250,000.

    The charge of false statements provides for a sentence of up to five years in prison, up to three years of supervised release and a fine of $250,000.

    Herbo will instead have to pay $139,968 in restitution for each purchase involved in the fraud and forfeit the same amount, plus a $5,500 fine. The total amount fined is $285,436."
