I am a nigga bro. South central LA nigga I’m sorry if you feel attacked wtf

    Y’all are wild

EYE HAVE ‘NIGGA’ hair 😭😭 that wasn’t even the point the point was that if Hip-Hop is only the guidelines that you put it then he not Hip-Hop, but it’s hella restrictive

That's even worse. Anyway. I like Drake, probably not as much as you but we can agree to disagree.

Yeah because the narrative from him and his fans is that he surpasses traditional hip hop rules because of his sales and chart placements but if you’re gonna pretend that that’s not a thing then why even reply lol

Surpasses traditional hip hop rules? Huh? You got it bro I think we talking abt two different things I’m confused lol

Can’t be any worse than creating arbitrary and archaic definitions for what makes someone ‘Hip-Hop’

I get it though. He mixed and said that thing about Toronto slang he not Hip-Hop

Drake is hiphop. Drake is also a***ogous to Madonna. One does not cancel out the other just cause niggas wanna emasculate Drake and strip him of his blackness by making underhanded comparisons to white female popstars and claiming he isn’t a part of hiphop

I don’t think they are ‘emasculating’ him but I agree he’s hip hop, but he’s the pinnacle of how pop or mainstream Hip hop can be atleast from what we’ve seen so far. He got rappers like Eminem out the box and took it different heights.

If you think he hip-hop and a true authentic representative of what hip-hop has been, then so be it.

The thing with Drake is that he’s more “Hip-Hop” than the niggas that aren’t of the culture. He’s an anomaly.

The fact that he’s from Canada already made him an outlier as far as the genres concerned. The mix of white and Jewish heritage is nothing new but provides evidence to question his blackness. And don’t forget that he can sing and rap.

There’s just so much about him that makes it hard it classify.

But to say he’s not Hip-Hop is a stretch and Glasses comments are indicative of how the culture praises things that are inherently broken.

If anything you could give Drake credit for expanding that lane for Lower-Middle class black people being able to participate within the culture through their feelings and introspection. A foundation that was already in place by Kanye.

Hip-Hop has just turned 50 years. That gutter, straight from the streets mentality needs to go.

Hip hop will always have representation of the streets. And the dark side of the hood because it comes from that that’s never going away but there is more than enough room to showcase the opposite as well.

    But that’s not what’s sellin

Drake grew up in a single parent jewish middle class household in canada.

One of the whitest conversations I’ve heard.

Nigga just picked his character outta nowhere lol

Wtf I forgot about this. This Nigga has had so many different voices over the years

  • Nov 9, 2023

    He's a hip hop artist

But he's also a character. Drake is like a very successful experiment.

As if he got trained on the mannerisms of street culture just to make music.

Getting adopted by Wayne and Birdman was like lightning in a bottle.
