YouTuber Carson King, also known as CallMeCarson, has been accused of grooming and inappropriately texting with fans, as King's former Lunch Club collaborators claim that King told them that he had been messaging with underaged girls.
Twitter user @miniborb has alleged that King, who is now 21-years-old, groomed her when she was 17 and he was 19. The Twitter user, named Sam, posted screenshots and videos that appear to show messages between herself and King that include messages of a sexual nature.
Sam said that the messages began when she jokingly tweeted "be my boyfriend" at King, who she says then messaged her privately.

Boiling it down to "he was 19 and she was 17" is way too simple and I think if you're doing that you're being willfully ignorant tbh. I don't really see anything wrong with an everyday, "normal" 19 yr old talking to a 17 yr old, but Carson is not that.

Carson and his friends have millions of subs and a cult like fan base. There's a huge gap in power, money, influence, etc between Carson and a normal 17 yr old. The fact that he bragged to his friends about talking to minors tells you that he knew it was wrong and he didn't care.

he told his friends and in the convo w/ the girl was discussing his mixed feelings on the matter, to call it "bragging" is ur own spin on the story. if it turns out he was telling his friends in a bragging way while showing that kind of conflictedness with the girl, then yeah it's reasonable that he may have been faking his internal conflict w/ the girl and thus manipulating her, but none of that has been demonstrated so far

also all that power dynamics stuff is overblown. groupie s*** happens all the time and no amount of complaining is gonna stop people with cultural significance from using it or stop people from being attracted to those with cultural significance
