Kanye a genius though, for recognizing the power of branding as early as his 2013 interviews when he trying to breakthrough..
"Part of my power is my relevance, and thats whats gonna allow my brand to be so big"
Not taking away from Kanye though cause designing is truly an art and passion he puts time in, but thats what separates the people who make it and who don't, those who are aware of the marketing and branding behind the art
He is making well crafted products
Cause if Kanye had started a fashion brand when he was 55 or 60, way after his prime, it probably wouldn't infiltrate the culture as much as it has now
The hype is in the NOW "Oh s*** Kanye dropping new shoes? Oh he w the Gap now? Damn this s*** fire!" While we listening to his music and s***, it adds to the branding
What I'm trying to say is this hoodie aint nothing out of the ordinary from another hoodie at half the price... I mean maybe the cloth is a litttle bit softer, but basically we all just copping cause its Yeezy lol.
You can't even argue that either, I feel like ppl lying to themselves if they do haha
I've never seen anything more wrong tbh

Cmon bruh if Gap dropped this hoodie without Ye
1. You wouldn't even know about it
and
2. If you did know about it, you prooobably wouldn't cop

I mean that's how marketing works. But the value is there with the double layer, cut, and material.

it depends on the marketing they would have done without Ye of course, but i mean, a cropped double layered hoodie (most likely 700 GSM cotton) at 80-90 USD is pretty rare tbh
LMFAO i already have that Wellick loser blocked, but dude really talking about it being $90 because of how soft the material is you can tell he doesn’t have a hoodie and therefore is talking straight out his ass
the value is mainly in the double layering along with the cut and materials

You are right that Kanye being involved with the design and development of this hoodie caused me to follow it more closely than I would a normal hoodie, and that I would also be more inclined to purchase it because of this.
However, when compared to other hoodies/crewnecks on the market this is the best I have tried as far as price/quality.
So far I've tried, various models of champion hoodies, supreme hoodies, supreme x champion hoodies (higher end reverse weave), reverse weave crewneck from ssense, a palace crewneck, and an LA apparel crewneck.
The YZY gap hoodie holds its form, feel weightier, and fits better than all of the ones list above (at least for me since im 5'8). The only ones that could maybe touch it in terms of fabric quality are early palace (haven't copped in a while) and supreme x champion. But these are single layered (YZY is double layered) and have a much more traditional fit.
As far as fit, LA apparel comes closest, but I would still like it to be a litte more cropped. The fabric is great quality but much thinner in weight.
I can tell you dont really know what you are talking about because you mentioned "softer fabric" on the YZY hoodie. The yeezy hoodie probably has less soft fabric than most hoodies, which is a pro in my eyes due to it holding its form better. Also while most hoodies have a fleece lining on the inside the YZY hoodie has the same feel on the inside and the outside due to it literally being two hoodies that have been sewn together.
Copped a black one
Got blue and brown already
twin
so i'm 6'0 and hovering around/just under 200lbs atm, is L a good bet? normally an M up top
"Just a hoodie' is exactly what im looking for
Its worth paying a premium for well made and well fitting basic items (also the hoodie isn't even expensive relative to other items tbh)
Fast fashion and brand wars got yall brain washed
🔁buying expensive staples that i wont have to replace in 12 months

definitely large
man i still havent pulled tth trigger cos every youtuber i watch for sizing is giving different advice
I'm about around 5'7 and 200lbs (have a bit of a gut, but not too big)
I dont like when hoodies are too big and make you look like your in your dads clothing, but I also dont want the crop to be too small
stuck deciding between M or L

sotaclub.substack.com/p/kanye-gap-balenciaga-and-the-age
good read, tldr shows how Ye and Demna know how to navigate and position themselves with our current consumer ways
at the end of the day, if the hoodie fire, the hoodie fire, excited for the rest of the nylon garms
tried to shrink my blue one a lil by washing it on high heat last night tbh
