Yeah basically. Those feelings were always there and I didn't know how to explain them, but it didn't lead to repression as much as misinterpretation. "If a relationship is between a guy and girl, then I guess I just really want to be friends with this guy. If I'm not showing interest in these girls, then it must be that puberty hasn't hit yet." By the time puberty did hit this logic didn't make sense anymore, and that's around the time I realized.
