I’m sincerely asking why Egypt won’t let them leave

Firstly egyptian economy is teethering on the edge of total collapse and the government esteems it can't afford the influx of Ghazan immigrants.

Secondly Sisi is utterly b****-made at the atomistic level.

Idk why anyone would actively want to go to Israel without realizing they are visiting an active war area

To be fair it doesnt feel like it at all. I went there for business and they would laugh about current rocket attacks while getting water from the bunker reserves when they’d run out of bottles. Really weird vibes for sure but not war like when you’re a westerner doing western things

Idk about outside the major cities though

Looks like we just have some serious moral differences if you’re continuously condoning the murder of civilians. I hope you one day you grow up instead of trying to be edgy on the internet.

War is the worst part of being human. Children in Gaza are being bombed as we speak for the actions of their government, just like civilians in Israel are. The people dying were born decades after this conflict even started. There is no good here, but i hope rooting for one side of an armed conflict like they’re a sports team is giving you the validation that you need.

War is not the worst part of being human

This war is specifically to prevent the worst part of being human: genocide

Seems like Egypt is complicit to genocide if they make up one wall of the prison

Just like europe was complicit when they didnt want to take in german jews. Israel is not the only one to blame here

Only one of us has approved of killing civilians in this thread my friend.

It’s incredibly sad what is happening in Gaza, but killing innocent civilians because of the actions of their government is terrorism. I can’t believe this even needs to be said

Israeli settlers are not innocent civilians, they are armed aides of the Israeli military and thus willing participants

No it really has been quite safe historically, for perspective a comparable number of Israeli civilians have been killed in the past few days and in either of the years-long intifadas

There's a lot of bad blood in this thread. I want to come in here and clear my name since my last account was booted off of this site for apparently being "too centrist".

Those who know who this will recognize my grammar and posting style.

I do not support Israel, I also do not support war. I apologize to anyone who was offended by my "centrist" comments earlier as they were misconstrued. I have never said I support Palestine or Israel.

I want this war to end, I want peace in this world. All of the people that are suffering and affected by this war should not have to deal with this.

I will not speak further on this event and will not take a stance because I do not understand it and I realize that it is very critical to some of you.

    Thank you.

I almost forgot to reply to this. Do you not think the palestinians after so many peaceful protests that ended in being mowed down by IDF soldiers have contemplated their options carefully? They deem this to be their best shot at freedom. Do you have any better ideas?

One could argue that (liberal) democracy is treating citizens as means to an end. I don’t wanna generalize but I guess I have to because that applies to probably any government ever

This is offtopic so I won’t delve deeper into this

    1. Chechens and Ingush: In 1944, Stalin accused the Chechens and Ingush of collaborating with the Nazis, even though many served loyally in the Red Army. As punishment, he ordered the entire populations of the Chechen and Ingush Republics to be deported to Central Asia, mainly to the Kazakh SSR and the Kyrgyz SSR. Thousands died during the forced relocation, and many more perished due to the harsh conditions in exile. They were allowed to return to their homeland only in 1957, after Stalin's death.

    2. Crimean Tatars: Also in 1944, the entire Crimean Tatar population was accused of collaboration with the Nazis and deported en masse to Uzbekistan and other parts of Central Asia. Like with the Chechens and Ingush, a significant portion of the population died during the journey or in the subsequent years in exile. The Crimean Tatars were not allowed to return to Crimea until the 1980s, and even then, it was a difficult process.

    3. Balkars: In 1944, the Balkar population was deported to Kazakhstan under accusations of collaboration with the German forces. They were rehabilitated and allowed to return in 1957.
    4. Kalmyks: In 1943, the Kalmyks were accused of collaboration and deported to Siberia and Central Asia. Many perished due to the hardships. They were allowed to return in 1957.
    5. Volga Germans: German communities had lived along the Volga River since the time of Catherine the Great. However, during World War II, they were accused of being potential fifth columnists and were deported to Kazakhstan and Siberia in 1941.

Clearly not armed, were they? Also Israeli settlers refers to people living in settlements in the West Bank. No settlers were killed. Are you a bit new to all this?
