A question
in the 70s and 80s, you got some degree of dissent from the US line around Israel-Palestine from European politicians. Obviously not a huge or situation changing amount, but they were not so uniformly ignorant of Israel’s crimes.
What changed? I would like to see my country and others exercise a bit of independence here as this is deeply uncomfortable and frankly cowardly and evil

Idk much about domestic European politics, but birds eye view I would wager that a large part of
it has to do with NATOs need to coalesce ideologically after the end of the Cold War in order to justify its continued existence. NATO is obviously the main representative of world imperialism, and dominated by the US, who emerged as the sole global hegemon after the Cold War. They’re pushed into this situation for a few reasons. A large one being that NATO is the primary European security apparatus because the US torpedoed any possible alternatives Europe . Given how much control the US has over the fate of Europe, and Europe being clinically paranoid about Russia, these countries ended up kowtowing to the US and selling themselves out in order to ensure their continued prosperity.
