"Most of us weren't aware of what was happening before Oct 7 why should we" ?. That explains the humongous blatant omission of atrocities you people do constantly

Banned from Reddit as a whole or bannned from a specific subreddit?

    If the latter, which sub?

Whole site, r/worldnews banned me ages ago, before this conflict.

What do you mean "you people"

You really think that 99% of the people at these pro palestinian rallies have any idea of the geo political context or history of the region in question?

I can guarantee that most folks mindlessly shouting "free palestine" dont even know how/why israel was formed and what palestine even is from a historical context

Im probably more informed than your average protestors simply because i did a bit of reading and ive been to israel but i will admit that i dont know about every single event of significance

But i can tell you that pro palestinian protestors focus on whatever atrocities further their cause and omit whatever ones do not.

Thats not a fair way of looking at things

Actually, most of us hadnt been following the situation that closely prior to oct 7 because why would we?

You are asking me to comment on something i dont know about.

However, i dont need to know all the facts to condemn killing of innocents on BOTH SIDES. Thats really all im looking for from the pro palestine crowd but they are quite reluctant to condemn the killing of jews which really makes it hard to vibe with them

"Most of us haven't been following the situation til October 7th"

Nigga this has been going on for multiple decades. If you haven't followed something til a month ago. That is on you. You don't care about either side if you only started following this a month ago and discussing it like this on KTT. You just here cause its trending. Which is fine but actually READ about the issue and become invested enough to care and speak on it rather than just be here

Fine but have that same energy with all the pro palestine protestors who just recently came out of the woodwork? Where were they the past decades?

Hint: they also only started caring now because its in the media

Also funny considering this thread just started on Oct 7.

Where were yall? Obviously the current events have brought attention here

Its okay for people to only be so informed about something. Nigga I have been covering the Palestinian protest in Chicago for many years. I took a class on it nearly a decade ago. There is a protest and groups at schools for over a decade. The media leads to MORE becoming informed and reading about something but very few is this their first time hearing about Palestines existence. Its in Lupe hit song from 2011, Its been mentioned in the News countless times. Its on UNITY by Frank Ocean. Its been dissected by Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn and so many others.

Just because you are seeing increased numbers and awareness on a issue that most of the time the media basically would present as "Muslims hate Jews and they can't live well together" rather than ethnic cleansing and genocide in slow motion which is now fast motion doesn't mean the world doesn't

Its easy for people to not want to protest because it feels useless when the ADL, AIPAC, Zionist and Israel getting money regardless even now. Protest are for solidarity and to not feel alone but BDS divestment is actually making progress. For years some have been calling divestment from places that support Israel antisemitic. A form of action where your money goes has been called hateful.

Any questioning of Israel war crimes has been called hateful. Then the media spins it further and further.

i'm so on the side of Gaza, no information will even further that...

i feel these news updates can at most affect people who have remained super ignorant about Israel for the longest times.... most sane people already knew... it's only gonna escalate cus the c***armies are in full force

Does anyone have any videos on how israel has at various points in history tried to come to a two state resolution with palestine while the leaders of palestine rejected this offer repeatedly as they refused to recognize the right of israel to exist

a few patches of land and no right to return for the 1948 refugees are not a solution. and bibi explicitly said his political goal was to destroy the oslo accords by populating the west bank with settlers and keeping the conflict alive.

Actually the first version of this offer gave palestine roughly half of the land in israel. Brush up on your history. This offer was rejected

    Dream

The 90s were the golden era in Israel -Palestinian relations, peace was inevitable. There was no seperation barriers or blockades. Oslo happened, then came the extremists on both sides. Rabin got assasinated and Hamas started their endless suicide bombings. They didn't want reconcilliation. Extremism on both sides ruined it.

I'm surprised nobody seems to know what I mean by Bibi's conflict management strategy. It's not a secret and of course it seeks to minimise the chance of a Palestinian state. Anyway it's over now. Two states, West Bank disengagement etc are back as the only viable options. But only if the extremists are sidelined.

and a one state solution was also proposed in the 30s and rejected by zionist nationalists so maybe we can blame their grandkids 90 years later for that decision since this is what we do now
