The accusation first came to light in March, after two guys from a digital-marketing firm with the rather-too-perfect name Chaotic Good talked to Billboard about the services their company provides. According to these dudes, they practice something called “trend simulation” using a vast network of farmed social media accounts to boost conversation around their clients. “We can drive impressions on anything at this point,” one of them bragged. “We know how to go viral, we have thousands of pages.”
