One thing I like about Dementus character is he didn’t want to hurt Furiosa when she was a kid. He saw himself as a “protector”, genuinely wanted to have a daughter. But to him, having a daughter is like having a pet.
The more I think about it what was he suppose to do in that situation? His worker presents to him a kid, he didn’t order them to kidnap her. He set out to find her land of abundance, yeah to take it over but on the way there the mom came guns blazing, obviously. So they killed her. Yeah they could have disarmed the mom and then sent her off wit the daughter, but in the headspace of him, can you trust her? You just accidentally kidnapped her daughter so revenge is prolly inevitable. Plus you hurting from your own kids being gone.
At this point if Miller does do another, would yall prefer a fury road sequel or the year prior prequel of Mad Max?
Fury Road sequel man
Wild watching this so soon after Road Warrior/Thunderdome. The scope and realization of vision is amazing.
Truly blessed to be getting a movie this ambitious that’s this weird.

I mean, Fury Road ends with Max disappearing into the crowd, so I’d imagine that whether it’s a prequel or sequel is kind of irrelevant because it’d be another Max solo venture.

old man max with mel gibson final movie
Am I the only one who thought one of Immortan Joe's deformed sons look exactly like Sean William Scott? I thought he was the one who was playing that character.
Yeah this was great
I don’t think I love it as much as fury road but that’s a hard bar to hit in the first place. Action was top notch and the visuals are so incredible
The detail Miller puts into the Wasteland and the consistency with Fury Road is worth so much praise. While I can understand others might not like how vfx heavy it is compared to the last one, it was very well done. Hemsworth was a standout and Anya did great at showing a more personal side of Furiosa. I saw some criticism about how little dialogue she has in it but I found it to be an intentional nod to Hardy’s take on Max. By the end she’s a spot on Furiosa comparable to Theron. It’s disappointing it’s not doing well at the box office, a movie like this is more than deserving of a massive theater. And right now there’s way too many creatives finding difficulty making bold new ideas. I hope Millers vision for a sequel sees the light of day
Why everyone saying movies dead theatres r dead because this flopped but didnt planet of the apes get like 250m?
They jst needed more promo for this and the start of the promo was weak
Wow. This is movie of the decade so far for me. Time to see how much it elevates fury road

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Fury road didn't make it's money back either, yeah? so I'm guessing this franchise is more niche than we thought?

Yup
Even worse vfx 😭😭
Was there ever one planned tho? :/
I read that it depends on the success of this one
And there you have it folks

Was gonna go re-watch this Saturday and they just removed all the showings in the theater near me for the 2nd week lmao
Some Kingdom of The Planet of the Apes and Garfield showings are still there though

But isn’t that in regards to another prequel?
I’m wondering if George ever had a sequel planned, or if The Wasteland was always planned to be a prequel but ppl got it mixed up years back thinking it was suppose to be a sequel
might see again on Sunday
