Before he's gone. He is a pivotal part in hip-hop history who has filled most of our lives with hits on hits. There has not been a more disrespect legend thats been thrown to the curb by the culture. Time to love and respect all legends who have blessed our ears and given us great memories.
Facts, Ja Rule a goat
Only ones that hate him are foreign Eminem stans who act like they was part of the beef lol
I still don't get why Ja was so hated, would appreciate if an OG could shed some light on this situation. From what I gathered he was just unlucky to belong to the wrong crews at the wrong time.
Next someone is going to say give benzino his flowers.
But ur right about Ja. Hes a legend

Benzino didn't make Always On Time

He’s not actually hated. The 50 beef made him appear slightly corny but Murder Inc as a label got destroyed due to the feds investigation. Also the sound of hip hop changed from that pop sounds to more gangster music brought on by the 50 era.
His era was simply done. Along with the likes of Nelly.

So.. just like 50 himself a few years later

Wasnt he criticized for making too many songs for the girls tho

Exactly. It’s the change of the guard to new sounds and new era’s ran by new labels. After the gunit era it was really good music turn, then cash money, etc etc

That’s why he didn’t survive into the new era. The sound changed to more street music. Everyone on in murder inc fell off. Ashanti run ended the same time.

1. Beef with 50 Cent and Eminem. 50 and Ja's beef goes waaaaaaay back since the 90's, partly because of Murder Inc. trying to blackball 50. And Ja dissed Eminem's daughter which lead Em to drop "Hailee's Revenge."
2. His sound was getting stale and the rise of 50/G Unit made a lot of people to abandon him

He was hated because em and 50 stans shifted the narrative on him during the beef and labeled him a singer not a real rapper and clowned him for s*** like doing e which every rapper was doing back then.
They just successfully pushed that narrative into the mainstream that he wasn't a real mc or worthy of respect
@Goo
Also important to note the importance of What does Ja Rule think? As a meme making him taken even less serious.
And just as hip hop twitter was starting to flip their stance on him and say wow this man was actually really dope, the Fyre festival s*** happened.

Wow that's extremely ironic considering 50 was given the same treatment by Nas/Wu Tang/Jada/etc a few years later lmao

Yeah, unfortunately for Ja - he was smaller than Em and 50 at the time so less people to defend him, whereas 50 had a huge fan base defending shots taken at him.

Those shots still penetrated deep over time imo. 50 went from being compared to Pac/Biggie on his first album to being considered a mediocre rapper who chases hits. By the time 50's 4th album dropped the masses no longer had demand for more music from him anymore.
