Great movie, you’ve seen Incendies? It’s 2010 Denis, it’s french tho, but one of his best. Think you’ll like it.

Yeah sorry, was talking more about Kurosawa, old Godard, Bergman. I see why people rate these movies so high but I just can’t really connect to them for some reason.

I can see not fw godard or bergman but Not even kurosawa?
I’ve seen some decent and good movies these last few weeks/months, but I’m miss the feeling of having seen a definite 5/5 perfect movie. Please recommend me some. Also maybe some more obscure ones, I know s*** like The Godfather & 2001 are 5/5.
Mystic River pretty good

Kurosawa is great, but I said this in the op, cus I know I’ll be getting loads of films from directors I just mentioned, but I won’t ever think I’d think they are 10/10 on a personal level.
If you like Fight Club, you should check out Alan Clarke's The Firm (1988) starring Gary Oldman. Seriously one of the best movies I watched last year. It's short too. Follows a group of football hooligans. Very intense.

A good bit of Godards films require context, he's working on a quite intellectual level which is strange but if you can get on his wavelength it's very rewarding

Wild Tales and Secret In Their Eyes are two dope modern Argentinian movies
Also, have you ever seen Children of Men? Nearly perfect movie
Basically any Denis movie 5/5
Already saw Blade Runner, Sicario, Arrival and Enemy, which movie from him should I see next??

What you recommend. I’ve seen Pierrot le Fou, vivre sa vie and Made in USA. But mostly liked these films because of Anna Karina tbh
