From its earliest origins in the 70’s, with stylish punchy nostalgic pop, to melodramatic epics. Everyone from Marc Bolan, Ian Hunter, David Bowie, and Elton John, to the big dramatic sheen of both ELO and Wizzard. There’s the arty sophistication of Roxy Music, Brian Eno, Sparks, and early Ultravox. Then there’s the dingy back alley rawness of The New York Dolls and Iggy Pop. Even The Kinks snuck their way into the scene. Bands like Suede tried admirably to revive it in the 90’s, and The Lemon Twigs dipped their toes a few decades later. Simultaneously an extension of the hippy dream, and a firm rejection of it. Breaking down gender barriers, while looking back to the warm comforts of 50’s American pop culture, and simple hook driven Rock n’ Roll.

It’s up there. I also always think of either Lady Stardust or Cracked Actor (wish it was longer).

Also this thread won’t pop off. Nobody into glam still like me lol.
