also like others have said, yeah u might make an extra couple thousand working at restaurant but then you’re pretty much a slave to every customer that walks in the door.

+if the assistant is smart enough and learns the industry she can network and finesse herself into a higher position or meet ppl/moneymakers she wouldn’t normally have access to to also learn from or benefit from if she knows how to.

If I’m correct the main appeal of being an assistant isn’t the pay, but either making connections and laying groundwork for your own career, if you’re smart, or just being around celebrities all the time, and that in and of itself making the work worth it, if you aren’t.
