I guess I’m ranking from a different lense where something like SZA’s vocals and how the beat moves on Gloria and on Luther just standout more to me within Kendrick’s discography much like a Father Time or Purple Hearts.
Where a wacced out murals is amazing, captivating, even a great moment, it leaves me wanting more where that is fully satisfied in songs like heart pt. 6, Gloria, Luther, reincarnated and even man at the garden.
Even if I put wacced out murals next to hey now, musically, hey now is washing wacced out murals. Wacced out murals is amazing. Actually I’d put it ahead of dodger blue (maybe) cause once I start digging into everything else…there’s just so much going on in the beats and how the nigga is flowing and how the songs themselves are moving across different parts and calling back to different parts of the beat like they were in there tryna create a symphony of sound
Respect to wacced out murals. That’s my honest observation

Cause most niggas became fans after very lit songs like hiipower or maad city so his laid back love songs that deep down are actually quality get overlooked. Like outside of being a single, b**** don’t kill my vibe is a classic Kendrick record cause it’s within that vain and it’s hard to argue against the song. Those type of songs are his strength, s*** like love is a lil too pop but on the same album you got loyalty which will get overlooked rightfully so cause Dot and Rih coulda come harder like him and SZA been doing. But Kendrick’s verses on that song and the back and forth with Rih, it’s crazy and the beat, while loopy, is constantly developing. Idk. I ain’t tryna discredit wacced our murals. I like all bruh’s music and can defend that s*** too lmao this just my perspective
