They were using hnvm sales to say drake fell off
How has that anything to do with what I said and the post I quoted?
Not Like Us was ran into the ground, because it became like a meme to the casuals and the big masses. Sort of like not wanting to miss out on what is going on and flocking like sheep because people talking about it on social media. It was a big moment, but doesnt necessarily mean people will check for a whole album or are now big Kendrick fans. People, in general, will just have listened to that song because it became big but they dont got more attachment than that to the situation. They dont really care. They just played that song for a couple of months, because it was being played a lot and people were talking about the beef.
Over 300 would not be terrible but below expectations, based on if you thought social media hype and the beef would generate a lot of albums sales. Type of predictions that was wrong, just like when it came to the election.
But he will catch a second wind with Grammys and SB though. That will spike numbers.
Go on Tour.
i thought you were all saying 700k? what happened?
They said the same thing in their latest pod episode and they're setting him up because the album isn't doing anything close to this.
No one knew it would be a 12 tracks, no physicals, surprise drop
Good to see the excuses flying already.
just want to highlight
we have seen ZERO tweets about this breaking or coming close to any day 1 streaming records
surprise drop westcoast album with a bunch of no name features

we are not gonna let ya'll forget the last 10 months of build up for kendrick's most anticipated album of his career to playdown that it's undperforming expectations because its mid again
--- started the year largest feature dissing drake
--- huge beef that made him a household name across the world
--- record breaking diss track, largest song of his whole career
--- pop out concert
--- superbowl announcement
--- every brand and nba team tweeting mustard
if this s*** don't do more than FATD (drake's lowest rap solo) then he fumbled the bag
Should have put not like us on it for the stimulus
The crying we would’ve got if that happened
Been telling this thread honestly nevermind is the base
Surprise drop from a mainstream hip hop artist in the streaming era with no physicals
That album did like 203k.
That’s the baseline
