Man the more I think about these shows just reminds me so much of how life and everything about it was so much better in them days

spongebob seasons 1 to 3 are some of the finest hours of television to ever exist

Sucks that cartoons took a nosedive but I guess they aren't for us anymore

Man it's really unfortunate that the series ended up going downhill but you are absolutely right about those first 3 seasons. The writers understood what was funny about the show, and knew how to write funny and interesting scenarios for the characters. They also understood why we liked each character and their personalities.

that was in a crucial period when spongebob was popular but not big enough to be the cash cow that it is now. sad what happened. after the creator died, it just completely f***ing jumped off the rails.

i always think about that, but then i go back and watch some tom & jerry which is pure, stupid slapstick humor and i know that we def slipped up somewhere

Tom & Jerry probably does hold up even better than Looney Tunes, since it has less of the dated pop culture references.
