The annoying thing is that the BET Awards never has Tyler perform or really acknowledges “alt-rap” or anything non-mainstream for the most part. The Grammys for the last few years have given non-mainstream niggas more recognition than the BET Awards. So people say to go where you’re appreciated or be with your people but your own people won’t recognize you. Same thing happening with Ari Lennox losing a SOUL TRAIN award to a pop artist lmao.
