Tryna upgrade from my 2009 mac book pro, but not tryna spend a crazy amount. Logic’s been giving me system overloads Need something that can handle a bunch of VSTS at the same time. Any suggestions? Been looking at some 2018 mac book pros.
Edit: Tryna not go a lot over 1K

Just get at least 16 gigs of ram and you’ll be more than good

I got a refurbed 2016 one and it can handle garageband

id get something newer tho, and like the other post said, something w some ram on it

problem with the most basic MB models is that if you throw garageband on, you wont be able to do anything else simultaneously

My current MacBook has 4 gigs lmao so almost anything would be an upgrade. But I’m for sure looking at something with 16. I need a lot of storage too especially since I’m going to transfer my data

I copped a 2015 15” retina MacBook Pro, 16 gb dam, 512 ssd, quad core i7 for like $840 about a month ago. I use it with ableton and it handles my big ass projects I’m talkin like 50+ tracks with some heavy plugins and processing going on. Works like a champ

you should try upgrading your ram to 16. you're able to do it in your 2009 and it's od easy and cheap. worth a try before you dish out money for an upgrade
