Anyone here got recommendations for starting point on getting into photography, can be anything like videos or pdfs on theory and stuff.
Any specific recommendations for youtubers?
my dad has a good/decent camera and I understand very basics of shooting manual but never really went further than that
I'm a fashion photog for about 6 years now, and the best starter camera I found was a Canon Rebel T5i. It's great video and photo quality for beginners, I shot a few gigs with it and no one knew the difference.
As far as learning the skill set, I'm sure Youtube Uni could help, but it really depends what you want your focus to be. Having a cohesive style helps in the long run, however you can just shoot around until you find out what you like.
Do you know what you plan on shooting yet? Landscape, portraits, etc.?
you dont have to support adobe if you own a macbook .
Affinity Photo can do everything you want.
Develop your own style. Make your portfolio look nice, starting out just focus on a small color palette. Cop a tripod. Charge your local models by the hour.

Im moreso interested in scenery but primarily architecture, I want to transition towards primarily b+w photography as well but want to do it as a hobby/creative outlet

The a7iii is more than enuff. So u good.
I would deff learn some basics of exposing ur shot and maybe invest in a free image editor to play around with.
Exposing for the highlights is one great thing i learned for editing. I dont use it for every situation, but its one of those things to know.

Yea thank you. Also I’m eventually considering getting into shooting a***og, is learning with a mirror less camera still fine or am I better off getting a low range film camera in that case?
I think the best starting point is to simply go out and take pictures. Dont expect too much at the beginning, just have fun and try things out.
2 Things i can highly recommend:
Go to the library and look for photography books. They can be pretty pricey, so the library is the best place. You dont have to study the entire subject lol, but reading a little bit about certain photographers and different kinds of photography cant be a bad thing.
The other thing i can recommend is youtube. There is a lot garbage about on there, but these channels are really, really informative and helpful in my opinion:

mirrorless is fine, its just like any other digital camera. and practice shooting in all manual when u can.
Due to boredom I’ve decided also to buy a camera. Got a film one though

He didnt really give it to me but he doesnt really use it much anymore and I can pretty much take it wherever after asking him. He was heavy into it when he was younger/few years ago but doesnt have time and due to personal reasons he doesnt really commit time or effort towards it.
Its sony alpha 7iii, its a mirrorless though not a film camera. I like idea of film for starting out though that in the sense that you literally just click and shoot in a sense and it sort of is more ruthless in that film is quite expensive. Mirrorless seems cool right now though due to being able to adjust settings and seeing that impact, unfortunately COVID-19 has me mainly staying home but its pretty cool

Lost of interest because I just don't enjoy things like I use to
