looking to buy a record player as a gift, but need help choosing one

budget of about $250 (i know the BEST ones are alot more, but thats all i wanna spend)

over ur budget if you’re looking to get a new one but audio technica lp5, can get it in ur budget used

a friend has it but then again he has a good sound system so its mostly down to that i guess

Decent price with anti skate, auto belt drive & 33/45 rpm.

Recommend upgrading the cartridge also. Ortofon 2M Red is pretty good.
