  • I really enjoyed it! Solid 8/10 popcorn flick with great social commentary. It gets weird AF towards the end (which might knock down peoples' ratings) but it was right up my alley.

not sure what point they were trying to make with the school shooting stuff, is he saying technology numbs people to real life violence or making a different point completely about how common school shootings are. either way felt like that storyline stuck out from everything else happening in the movie

Had loads of fun with this.

Sam Rockwell is a hooper when it comes to this acting s***, I absolutely need to tap more into his filmography.

Shout-out to Michael Pena too, he's been a very underrated actor for a lengthy amount of time.

Juno and Haley Lu were pretty good in this also.

As someone that really enjoys Terminator, Cowboy Bebop, The Matrix, and EEAO, this was absolutely in my neighborhood of enjoyment.

Only downsides for me with this was the pacing of the final faceoff with the AI antagonist was inconsistent, felt like Verbinski was pulling his punches towards the overall social commentary that he implemented into the script, and that GLHFDD could've been 12-15 mins shorter.

    8.5/10

I'm in the same boat as you when it came down to Michael Pena's character's frustration with his students refusing to touch that book that he wanted them to read. Definitely thought that Verbinski was gonna preach to the choir about how vital it is to keep physical media alive but it's immediately brushed to the side to advance the story.

    Very ambitious
Doesnt really make any sense when you start thinking about it and i hated the last 2 minutes.
Still the Best terminator movie since t2
Great rockwell performance and verbinski directing style shines through the weak screenplay.
Happy hes making movies again im a big fan of the pirates trilogy and lone ranger film
    7/10

When the movie peaks in the opening scene...Sam Rockwell in that restaurant was gold. I thought I was really gonna enjoy this off the bat. Then the rest of the movie happens. None of the character vignettes landed for me, either way too heavy handed or played out, Black Mirror style stuff but worse. The last act was a big mess. There were definitely people in the audience laughing at the jokes and having big reactions to all the crazy s*** going on, so this just didn't end up being for me.
