I'm always listening to Hip-Hop s***, but Gorillaz always got my ear.

Obviously it’s way too soon to be having these type of conversations but just so we can geek out for a second here we might as well go ahead and do it. If we talking tier one? As far as the gorillaz are concerned, that s*** is officially Demon Days, Plastic Beach, & The Mountain. Shuffle the rest however you will but that’s tier 1 officially for me. Now Granted, my first listen was on acid lmao but I don’t think there’s any question in my mind where this s*** belongs. The layering alone bruh, the compositions, all the little sonic textures and happy accidents embedded within it, I don’t know how anyone can walk away from this s*** not utterly blown away by the musicianship alone and that’s before you even dissect what the f*** this nigga is even saying on these songs which is absolutely f***ing beautiful. It made me realize how inadequate my current listening set up is tbh 😄 this s*** is literally begging you to sit in the music, actually experience it, be present with it. I absolutely love it.
