You're not wrong but people only typically care about issues that they can relate to, is right in their face or impacts people they know to a great degree. For example in many islamic countries minority religions have faced extreme oppression for centuries to the point where their down to very tiny percentages, and no this isn't only under well publicized terrorist regimes like ISIS or the Taliban. Or the struggle and oppression on ethnic lines in Afghanistan of Hazaras or Kurdish people in multiple countries. But most muslims do not care about this or mention this (unless their an oppressed ethnicity), and these are also human rights issues rather than religious oppression similar to Israel.
