Is prison food exaggerated on TV or is it actually trash?
It’s like school cafeteria food. Small portions so commissary is necessary if you want to actually feel full.
Our COs ordered us pizza on two different occasions for going a week without any major issues, that was like heaven. Never enjoyed Dominos so much in my life.But yeah the lunch was meh, mostly filled up with ramen or junk food from commissary.

I mean consensually willing. I was only in jail, not prison, I don’t think rape happens as much in jail as it does in prison. At least in my pod there were a couple probably gay guys who we all thought were f***ing but as far as we all knew no raping going on.
Wouldn’t be surprised if some guys were doing sexual favors not because they were gay but because they were sexually starved as well.

NujaTalking to and listening to multiple people who went to prison. This isn’t what happens. One of the most exaggerated rumors about prison is prison r*pe. And when it happens it’s not what people expect. It’s mostly an emotional thing cohersion but it’s usually always because of debts or someone wanting gang protection. It’s not some dude just randomly running up on another dude and over powering him

I was working in the cafeteria when I was in a few years ago, and this box of “meat” said not for human consumption on it lmao they use to use that “meat” for sausage balls in the morning, and burger patties/other things throughout the day. Luckily I survived off 90% commissary lol

Would drink it in front of the COs and everything. They had no idea. We even had little styrofoam water cups in there, one time he did a double cup and they thought he was just being funny but made him do a single cup

Depends on who is working for the day. Just like any job some COs we’re only there to get paid for nothing and not actually working.

What are some of the rules you gotta follow amongst your fellow inmates? Like the ones you have to be schooled on.
Don’t reach over anybody if you have to grab something
Don’t take free stuff unless you’re super close with somebody (people will try to give you snacks and s*** and then a day later they will ask for three back as interest)
Always use eye contact, this is important. Otherwise people will think you are tryna sneak them.
Don’t ever ask to change the channel or change the channel on the Rec TV (this is the number one cause of fights). First to the tv gets to pick what we watch (exception is if somebody put on something stupid nobody liked they may get called out, but I would just personally let it go)
Don’t take bets, especially on sports (this is a big one, you don’t want to owe someone 67 honeybuns cause they pressured you into a bad bet)
Make sure not to half ass cleaning.
Who to avoid, who’s friendly. (Both COs and other people in there).
What time certain things happen in the jail, like chow, showers, rec time, guard change.
